Hello and welcome to Jumpseat Therapy! I’m Jocelyn—flight attendant, mental health advocate, and the founder of JST. Around here, we like to call what we do pocket-sized therapy for your trip: beginner-friendly, travel-ready cross stitch kits designed to help you slow down, breathe, and feel a little more like you again—wherever you are.
Jumpseat Therapy started during the post-COVID flying world of 2020, when I was having a really hard time in the air. Schedules were a mess, customer aggression was rising, and I was desperate for something that could get me through layovers without leaning on alcohol. Somewhere in the middle of all that, I picked up cross stitch—and it quietly changed everything.
At first, it was as simple as tossing small pieces of fabric into my bag, stitching during airport sits and flights, then turning them into little keychains with a bit of superglue. I’d gift them to friends and family when I finished. But what surprised me most wasn’t just how cute they were—it was how clear I felt. My thoughts settled. I wasn’t as angry. And, little by little, I stopped abusing alcohol.
A few months later, I knew I couldn’t keep this to myself. I wanted to share this kind of calm with my flying partners—and anyone else who needed a healthier way to cope with a loud, stressful world. I officially formed my LLC in May 2024, and Jumpseat Therapy took off from there.
What started as one person stitching through hard days has grown into something so much bigger: a wellness movement built on tiny, consistent moments of creativity. Today, thousands of people have joined the Crafty Crew, choosing stitching as a way to reset, reconnect, and take care of themselves—one little thread at a time.
My goal is simple: to bring healthier coping mechanisms to a crazy world, and to offer a small glimmer of goodness when you need it most. Thank you for being part of this journey—I’m so glad you’re here, and I can’t wait to keep growing with you.
