You've placed your last stitch — congratulations! The final step is turning your finished piece into something you'll actually use. The good news: every Jumpseat Therapy kit is designed to finish without a sewing machine or any special tools. Here's how to complete a luggage tag, keychain, or bookmark, start to finish.
First, prep your finished stitching
- Secure your thread. On the back, run your needle under a few stitches and trim the tail close so nothing unravels.
- Trim any loose ends. Snip stray floss flush with the fabric with your small scissors.
- Give it a gentle press. Lay the piece face-down on a towel and press with a warm iron to smooth the fabric.
How to finish a cross stitch luggage tag
Our luggage tag kits come with the tag hardware included. Slide your finished, pressed piece into the tag sleeve, snap it closed, and thread the loop through your bag handle. That's it — a one-of-a-kind tag that makes your suitcase easy to spot on the carousel.
How to finish a cross stitch keychain
For our keychain kits, place your stitching into the keychain blank, secure the backing, and attach the ring. Clip it to your keys, backpack, or crew bag.
How to finish a cross stitch bookmark
With our bookmark kits, finish the edges as directed, then tie on the included tassel through the top hole. Slip it into your current read — a little landmark to mark your page.
